giveaway 75 and a winner

the winner for the last giveaway of anything from ye old etsy shop is mae! she will be receiving the blue jewelry roll. now i just have to figure out how to ship it to thailand where she and her husband live and work for jesus! (remember when they left?) this is double perfect because mae just sent judah and the fetus little gifts from thailand. judah got a handmade applique t-shirt of a tiger (or angry dog) and the lil' one got an adorable tiny elephant (there would be pictures but i am so very lazy). random.org rewards generosity it seems. mae, email me and tell me what's the best way to send it to you.

GIVEAWAY 75

we aren't missing a beat. i am gonna catch up with you suckaz. the next giveaway is for people with babies or people who know babies or people just who need to soak up some fluid with something cute. i will make you (or whomever you want it for) a custom burp cloth. here is a smattering of examples of my work. i will put up a pic of my fabric collection so you can choose the colors and junk and you can pick what goes on it.

i am pumped about this one because we have about 10 of these for judah and beyond being crazy soft and stupidly absorbent and useful for drool, spit-up and general baby secretions, he really loves them. they are the closest thing he has to a comfort object (we call them binkies) and he always sleeps with one snuggled up or in his mouth. PLUS this one is a blank canvas and the winner gets to make it all themselves, i am just supplying the labor. que fun!

  1. I seriously will enter and enter and enter (and enter and enter!) until I win something handmade by the one and only Keight Dukes!!

When I dream about a burp cloth, I imagine it much like the last one with the initials. I am a sucker for anything monogrammed and we would only be so lucky for you to hand sew MG's initals on her very own burp cloth!

  2. Ohh yay! I am about to have plenty of drool/spit-up/other lovely things that come out of babies pretty soon! My dream burp cloth is navy blue and baby blue stripes- should be super easy so random.org should pick me :-)

ps- my word verification to leave a comment is "fooddle"- who comes up with these things?

  3. LOVE THESE! I have an almost 7 month old who has a ridiculous abundance of secretions - and enjoys a good puke every now and again (he seriously smiles some of his biggest grins with pukey goop running down his chin -soooo gross) Ok, so I would LOVE the whales, but the initials are pretty awesome too (ZAG, or ZGA, with the last name in the middle, you know, whatevs) but coming back to it I think I am partial to the whales. excellent. now I just need to win......(um, and katy baker, feel free to enter for Zane too, just sayin')

  4. Is it lame that I got really excited about a burp cloth? Well I did. I would love something with my little one's name or initials... since we didn't find out what we were having til she was born, she doesn't have much in the way of personalized gear.

  6. I'm with Mary Beth... I'm entering until I win!! My dream burp cloth would be psychic, independently mobile, and self-cleaning. That way it would know where the baby's liquid is going to land, it could get there on it's own, and I would never have to wash it or run out of clean ones. But in all seriousness, I love the whale one. It's so sweet and preppy-ish... like something you'd see in a Nantucket boutique.

And for the embryos... we transferred all three of them, but only one was able to mature further and actually implant in the uterine lining (that's when it starts secreting the hormone that pee-sticks pick up). Statistically, only 1-in-3 embyros transferred into the womb will actually implant. Having perfect embryos and being young are supposed to up the odds, but we've transferred 6 total and only got one. Sooooo we have some room for improvement :) Knowing our luck, we'll have triplets next time...

  7. I want one with a lady bug on it... and I'll give to to my sweet friend who has a little lady bug of her own, 7 months old and super spitty-uppity girl!

  8. My dream burp cloth would be one with a pelican's face on it, and the gullet of the pelican would be able to contain my chunky monkey's regurgitated breast milk (think an expandable/collapsible pocket). My little guy has reflux and spits up 24/7. We go through tons of outfit changes a day-which is okay for him because he has tons of clothing, but I, however, do not have that luxury since I'm not back in my "skinny" clothes yet. ;-( Oooohhh, and if the gullet material was made out of that shammy material (you know the stuff you dry your car with or divers use), that would be even better because then it would be self drying and I wouldn't go through a million a day!

Okay, so in all seriousness I love anything with gingham or madras print with Isaac's initials.

  9. look at me following directions! here i am entering a giveaway for a burp cloth. i don't have a kid who needs a burp cloth - or a kid who doesn't need a burp cloth for that matter. what i do have is a friend who wants a burp cloth for her precious baby boy. so, here's what patricia wants...

"Ok, so I would LOVE the whales, but the initials are pretty awesome too (ZAG, or ZGA, with the last name in the middle, you know, whatevs) but coming back to it I think I am partial to the whales."

as for me, i vote for the whales. the initials are super cute, but the whales are adorbs. yea! vote for me to win a burp cloth for patricia and zane!

  10. My dream burp cloth for Tripp would be super masculine. The poor boy has a cheap momma and therefore pink burp cloths. I would really love to win, so I am becoming a follower to up my odds!

  12. Ok- so I have no babies anymore :(
But I think a burp cloth with a monster truck on it would be super cool. And I would put it to good use and make it one of Evan's sweat towels that he uses to wipe his face when he runs on the treadmill every morning (gross). Or you couls just make him a sweat towel that reads "cancer sucks the big green weiner". I'd pay for that one! But that's alot of letters to cut out! So we'll stick with the monster truck. Very fitting for a 33 year old man!

  13. I don't suppose there's anyway you could manage to put a mullet on a burp cloth, is there? Annabel is famous for her mullet...

  14. I think a burp cloth with a giant squid on it would be cute! I love cephalopods. Maybe the squid would be plaid?
    Or a wookie?
We are trying, so hopefully I will be able to employ one in the not so distant future.
