over the break

part deux to the great fame adventure is coming soon. but before we get much deeper into december (december, are you kidding me? shouldn't i still be pregnant and feeling like judah's first christmas is as far away as his wedding?) i thought i'd throw out the obligatory baby's first thanksgiving photo spread. we actually didn't take a lot of photos this weekend, but i thought i'd give you what we got.
.

the day before thanksgiving was judah's 6 month b-day. we told him this during his monthly photo shoot and he was clearly stunned, "excuse me, i'm HOW old?"

. i told judah how sad i was that he's growing up so fast and he said, "how sad, allow me to play the air-violin to accompany your mourning"

.
the bug got a bit testy on thanksgiving day when i needed to cook so dad took him for a walk. never fails that they come back like this
.

in the bleachers cheering me on while i cook

.

i would love to caption this "baby's first beer," but i cannot. dang, that comes much too naturally to him.

love that little pointer finger! those are tech sneaker booties with actual laces from drew.

.
family floor pic. and check out that tiny waistline. 13W x 10L is judah's pants size
.

judah has on a tech hat too. its denim and floppy and just as ineffective at securing a win over UGA as mine and jesse's were. (damarius, i think my bebe could have made that catch).
.

our thanksgiving family by size, skintone and amount of chub rolls.
.

it was a really interesting weekend to say the least. jesse and i got in a huge fight shortly after the cooking picture was taken and spent like 2 hours picking up the pieces and getting back on track. so then the whole famliy was over at the grandukes' place and we had the biggest and best spread in our culinary history. then we had a fun storytelling bonfire with toasted mallow and hot chocolate after dinner. it all kind of gets fuzzy in comparison though when we got the news via skype video conference that jesse's older sister elissa had gotten married last summer before moving to france with larry, who we had all always thought was just a friend! it was shocking to say the least but we are all so very thrilled that they are so happy together. judah's bottom two teeth finally popped thru on wednesday and sunday to minimal fanfare and maximum drool. and of course this was all topped off by the demoralizing defeat of our yellow jackets at the hands of the vile UGA. so yeah, we took emotional and physical naps on sunday.

  2. What an eventful weekend. BTW have I told you lately how adorable Judah is? Because he is so cute especially when he has that sweet smile on his face.

  3. Keight, I've got to say what a trooper you were this weekend in the midst of the family drama. THANK YOU so much for your understanding, and for being there for us!! You're an amazing 'daughter' and we are so grateful to God for you. Love & hugs!

  4. Yay, sneaker booties fit!! Drew only wore them once--they were too small when he got them, but we squeezed his feet in them to appease Gram. And, umm, Drew already has an obsession with beer bottles as well...but as of yet he has made no oral contact, just a couple of close calls and a huge longing... K
