Show Some LOVE

Hey all you readers, lurkers, friends, followers, and any other types of Put Up Your Dukers:

Today is a special day.  Today is K8's 31st birthday.  And if you're anything like me, you're really grateful that K8 is alive.

just love your face off

So how about today you guys share some of you favorite posts of all time with K8 and/or let her know why you appreciate her.

Because lets face it, God pretty much broke the mold with her am I right?

(She is immediately regretting allowing me posting privileges, and will probably revoke them after today)

  1. Happy birthday, K8! I thoroughly enjoy pretending we are great friends as I blog-stalk you. If we were friends IRL I'd take you out for your free Caribou coffee today!

  4. Hello beautiful woman. I don't really have a favorite post (sorry... there are many I like mucho)... but my favorite K8 moment is the text you sent me many months ago from the bathroom at church! You know the one. You can make me smile... and you can make me go... hhhmmmmm...? I think you are fabulous in many ways. The most fab thing I admire is your desire and COURAGE to grow. I KNOW who is beneath some of that RAAA RAAA and she is PRECIOUS. And I like her a lot. I pray you are so blessed today and feel His love slappin all over you! I pray you get all mushy gushy to know you are loved... very loved.
And I am lovin the lip balm... but you are gonna pay for introducing my chili pops to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! (obsessed is not even the word for it!)
    Love. You. (and your FAM)
    Dawn

  5. Lurker and very very occasional commenter here. I have quite a few Mommy blogs that I frequent, but there are two that are absolute must-reads because they actually make me belly laugh sometimes--Put Up Your Dukes and Camp Patton. Keight Duke, not only are you just funny as hell, but you are about the most genuine person I've ever seen on the internet, with both personal struggles and victories. Like (I assume) many others, I am thoroughly convinced we would be besties if you only knew me. :) Hope you have an absolutely wonderful birthday.

  7. Happy birthday from a total stranger! I feel I've gotten to know you well by reading your blog over the past couple years - I guess I'd say that my favorite post is probably the braided scarf tutorial, simply because it brought me to your blog (and you have mad crafting skillz). All the rest of your posts kind of blur together in a mess of hilarity and awesomeness. I love that you are so transparent and real about being a committed Christian woman dealing with the realities of living in 2013. Also, I love your fashion posts - also so funny and so real. I don't have a husband or kids, but I even love your posts about family life because they're told in such a way that anyone can enjoy them. Hope you have the best birthday ever!

  9. Yay! This is fun! For one because I've wanted to email Keight for a long time now, professing my blogreader crush on her, but always felt like "Crap, everyone probably does that. IM NOT UNIQUE--EVERYONE KNOWS SHES THE COOLEST." But now it's legit. I came, like most others, to this place through the scarf tutorial post. I would have gone on my way without a second look if it weren't for the video. Upon seeing the jazz hands + subsequent crack up, I had to know more. I went on a saga through many posts, eating them up, so psyched about the honesty, hilarity, relatability, realness, and choice use of curses. It was like a magical world that I never knew existed (what? This isn't solely a DIY blog? You don't have to project only the perfect version of yourself on the internet? WOAH). I landed on some posts about marriage that were so encouraging and refreshing that it made me cry, and I was completely hooked. It's lame that this sounds so cheesy, but Keight's writing has seriously been an encouragement to me (a random stranger); in my everyday life, things she's said have helped me not feel alone, or her own soul-searching has helped me unravel my own weird reactions and insecurities, or her love for Jesus has encouraged me to treasure my own relationship with him more. It's crazy that among two people who've never met (and you don't even know I exist, hah!), one can make such an impact on another. But I guess it's actually not that weird, because that's what great writers everywhere throughout time have done. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEIGHT! Thank you for all you do.

PS: I think Keight should write a book. <3

  12. I read because folks from Haiti pointed me this way...and I've stayed because you cuss. I'm not even kidding. I have this sort of stupid propensity to let foul language fly, but I'm a total Jesus freak...so you and I have that in common. HA Love reading your transparent heart and hilarious stream of consciousness. Love that you insist on being cute and fashionable and not letting the inner downer voice keep you from knowing you are gorgeous. Also, love that you enjoy your hubs...mine has taken to wearing Wranglers and boots and his ass is killing me. rowr.
