So, if you can't find a good use for it, I'm in! I'm in the market for one because the one I have nate's granny made... (You know the one who's sewing maching you learned to sew on...) And now I feel like I shouldn't use it or get it dirty! I'll pay you for it? Or trade you a Chicago souvenir?

I think you're awesome keight. I love this post & jesse's comments to it! Hope the party is wonderful :)aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03976619757128057145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261923494451820843.post-57652628056667057012010-05-19T22:04:11.126-04:002010-05-19T22:04:11.126-04:00We are anti-gift gluttony too. For our kids we always let people know that gifts truly are not necessary but should they feel obligated just to bring their favorite book when they were our child's age. We feel a child can never have too many books. Like Amy posted above, we don't put batteries in toys that make noise. This has worked well, until our kids find a friend with the same toy and it DOES have batteries.
;-) I think Jesse should model all your crafts! They said limit yourself to three gifts based on the reasoning that that's what Jesus recieved from the wise men. One you need, one you want, and one just for fun....or all three just for fun.coriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11580444921800498212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261923494451820843.post-15150168852677010182010-05-19T15:13:17.991-04:002010-05-19T15:13:17.991-04:00the target circo brand actually has a lot of cute ...the target circo brand actually has a lot of cute learning toys, some of which are plastic but most of which are light- and sound-less, which i appreciate. my little one especially likes the shape sorting hippo... too cute. http://tinyurl.com/26tcupx
leapfrog also has some good stuff, although it does tend to get a bit flashy for older kids.GreerAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05598302522765366986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261923494451820843.post-28860127139994019362010-05-19T13:24:49.014-04:002010-05-19T13:24:49.014-04:00we're anti-crap, too (but have learned I can&#...we're anti-crap, too (but have learned I can't say "anti plastic" because my dad will launch into a tyraid about how plastics sent me to college...). Anyway, we plan on using amazon's universal wish list for gift ideas from family for gift-giving occasions. That way, we can literally add whatever we want from any website to the list (earth friendly, non-light-up junk) and family can pick what seems right to them. Another trick I've learned from parents is that the toy won't make noise or light up if you never put the batteries in... baby won't know the difference!Amy Franckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10363457636044895242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261923494451820843.post-27277023631522900222010-05-19T13:02:36.451-04:002010-05-19T13:02:36.451-04:00A.
